Paris through the eyes of Expedia’s Local Experts
We had never been to Paris so when the opportunity arose for us to see the city of lights through the eyes of Expedia local experts, our bags were packed before you could say merci beaucoup.
Through Expedia you can arrange a private standard car fromCharles de Gaulle Airport to your hotel. The entire process was very simple. I went online, entered all the flight information, pre-paid ($63.00 from the airport to the hotel) and the driver waiting for us at baggage claim. Having never been to Paris before, this took the stress out of navigating from the airport to the hotel after an 8-hour red eye flight.
Dive Grand Turk!
Imagine crystal clear, turquoise blue water that turns dark blue just a few hundred yards from shore where a wall drops to 7,000 feet, abundant with magnificent corals, sponges, tropical fish, turtles and miscellaneous sea critters. It’s less than a ten-minute boat ride to most dive sites, bright and sunny days with a nice breeze and a pleasant water temperature, not to mention beautiful white sandy beaches where donkeys and horses can be seen roaming freely. If you see all of the above and friendly people who drive on the left-hand side of the road, then you’ve pictured Grand Turk island, the capital of the Turks and Caicos.

Watch the sunrise from a hot air balloon
What better way to experience Dubai than from a bird’s eye view in a hot air balloon? This excursion allows travelers to soar high above the Dubai Desert Conservation Range in a hot air balloon with an experienced pilot. The breathtaking sights include the sun rising over endless sand dunes, beautiful desert vistas, and wild camels and gazelles roaming freely around the area.
Not only does this excursion provide participants with some unbelievable photo ops, but it also offers approximately one full hour of airtime, a variety of interesting tidbits about desert living, and a unique and adventurous way to experience the desert!
Eco-tourism in Costa Rica
On a recent trip to Costa Rica, I learned first hand why eco-tourism is a phenomenal way to travel throughout the tropics. Eco-tourism gives value to the existing forest as well as adding value to reforestation projects. Traveling to the tropics not only benefits the traveler with stories of zip-lining through the canopy, seeing howler monkeys on the side of the road, and having hummingbirds zip by your ear to feed from a heliconia flower 2 feet away from you at breakfast. Why should we care about protecting the rainforest? There are too many reasons to count, but what stuck with me the most in my travels was learning that about 2100 of the 3000 plants identified by the …
Sandals Resorts Leave Footprints In The Lives Of Many
Comprised of over 700 lush green islands lined by gorgeous beaches and radiant waters, the Caribbean is a prime destination for many vacationers from all across the globe. However, what most of us don’t often see beyond these natural beauties of the Caribbean is the reality that many of its communities are facing countless economic and environmental challenges, making it difficult for the region to thrive and advance.
“Education, Community, Environment”
Variety is the “Spice of Life” at the brand new Sandals Ochi
Everybody has their own set of ideals when it comes to vacationing and creating the “perfect” getaway. Many people may prefer a tranquil respite offering a plethora of serenity & relaxation, while others seek out their destination specifically with activities & adventures in mind. And then there’s the group of people that I like to refer to as the “variety pack” people. These are the ones who don’t necessarily prefer one or the other, but rather have …

Memphis, Graceland and Elvis
We went to Memphis to visit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. What an amazing place. And, while we were there we took a side trip to visit Graceland, Elvis Presley’s home.
It is one of those things you must do in Memphis. Graceland has been beautifully maintained throughout the years and looks exactly like it was when Elvis lived there. As you stroll through the house and the impeccably manicured grounds, you can’t help but think about what it must have been like in it’s heyday.
So, next time you find yourself in Memphis, check out Graceland!

Video: Vail Tips from the Mountain Top #NokiaIcon
I went to Vail and got “Tips from the Mountain Top” on my Nokia Icon.
If you don’t know how to ski (and I don’t) navigating with the weight of the layers of clothes, boots and skis is challenging enough. Add to the mix balancing with a camera and all bets are off. Enter Nokia Icon, a game changer for me. I slipped it into my jacket pocket, hopped on the gondola and headed up the mountain to meet my ski instructor Christy Remeta, a 16 year veteran on Vail mountain. Christy was amazing. She immediately got my focus on where it should be, skiing, versus the “what ifs” that were running rampant through my helmeted head. What if I fall? What if I break something?
Under Christy expert tutelage I focussed, my fears subsided and I was able to enjoy the moment, the mountain and the learning to ski experience. The Vail Ski School is on top of the mountain which is absolutely amazing! Even if you never progress from the bunny hill, you get the same breathtaking view of ‘real skiers’. It was gorgeous and the perfect backdrop to ask Christy for a few tips about skiing Vail.
