    LifeAt50+ Swag and More

I finally attended my first LifeAt50+ expo in Miami as a guest of AARP Member Advantages. I expected it to be pretty much like the scores of other conferences and trade shows that I have attended with rows of vendors passing out brochures, and branded swag ranging from ink pens to plastic cups to t-shirts to tote-bags to koozies. What I didn’t expect was the enthusiasm of the attendees, the usefulness of the swag, and the wide range of discounts […]

    Getting Older Does Not Suck

I must confess. When I first began receiving materials from AARP in the mail, I would immediately tossed them in the trash. Opening the envelopes would somehow be an acknowledgement that I officially fit into AARP’s demographic. It was not something that I would readily embrace. It was easier to convince myself that AARP made a mistake in sending me the materials in the first place. Fast forward to today, I am in Miami Beach for the #LifeAt50 expo enjoying the […]

  • King Street, Charleston

Capturing Charleston’s Charm with a Smartphone

Charleston, South Carolina is one of my favorite cites in the United States. So much so that I make a point of visiting at least once a year. Admittedly indulging in its world class food scene is my favorite thing to do in Charleston. Though Charleston is a relatively small city, as a foodie destination, it ranks right up there with the likes of New Orleans, New York, San Francisco, Austin, and Chicago. In an effort to walk off the […]
