Island hopping in the South Pacific aboard a luxury yacht is a Bucket List item that I’ve always dreamt of but never seriously thought I would get to experience. So when Windstar Cruises invited to host me on their Dreams of Tahiti cruise aboard the Wind Spirit, I had to pinch myself.

In fact, I had to keep pinching myself throughout the trip. I expected a tropical paradise with crystal clear lagoons and lush rainforests – and I was not disappointed. What I did not expect was how much I would enjoy experiencing the Polynesian culture, soaking in the sunsets, encountering wildlife, and just being aboard the Wind Spirit.

I had intended on doing a photo essay of my ten favorite photos from this cruise. I couldn’t decide on just 10 so I decided to share more like 100 of my favorite photos. Let me know which ones you like best.

Island Hopping

Our adventure began at the Le Meridian Resort where we were able to relax and get acclimated to the time change for a couple of days before the cruise began. Once we boarded the Wind Spirit we sailed from Papeete to Moorea to Radiate to Motu Mahaea to Bora Bora to Huahine and back to Papeete. These photos are just a few snapshots of the islands’ beauty we encountered along the way.

Sunsets

I could have easily shared 100 photos just of sunsets. From one minute to the next the sunsets were absolutely mesmerizing.

The Wind Spirit

I loved everything about my experience aboard the Wind Spirit. Sail hoisting ceremonies, fine dining, toasting sunsets, theme parties, and a luxury stateroom all made for unforgettable way to get around the islands.

Wildlife

I’m always fascinated by wildlife encounters, but getting to actually swim with sharks and rays is something I’ll never forget. Talk about an adrenaline rush!

Cultural Experiences

Exploring the culture of a destination is the best way to make the most of any journey. Through art, music, performances, classes, and tours, Windstar provided plenty of opportunities to experience Polynesian culture.

Food

Of course my favorite way to experience any culture is through it’s food. There were plenty of amazing food options throughout the trip.
