After the “Festival of Slow” in Goodwood, England, my Mongol Rally teammates, Dave, Deb and Sherry and I crossed into France via the Eurotunnel, turned left, crossed through the Netherlands and into Belgium and ended up in Brussels at the home of our wonderful hosts, Alison (@acornn) and Andrew (@Massin) where we shared an amazing meal of meats, cheeses, salads bread and salsa paired with Belgium beers, Champagne and French wine (I told you they were wonderful).
The next morning we were treated to a walking tour of Grand Place in Brussels where we had breakfast at a Belgian Waffle House, called Dandoy’s. I have now officially checked “Eating a Belgian Waffle in Belgium” off of my Bucket List!
We took in Brussels’ amazing architecture and Alison regaled us with the story behind the city’s famous Manneken Pis statue. Before leaving for Germany, we stopped and picked up some frits for the road.
Here are a few photos from our time in this beautiful, fun city.
