Chicago: Our Kind of Town Radisson Blu Aqua: Our Kind of Hotel

When you travel as often as we do there are certain things you really appreciate in a hotel. Courteous, even friendly staff, comfy beds, good coffee, a great restaurant and FREE wifi! At the Radisson Blu Aqua Chicago they ‘get it’ or they got us. We barely exited the parking garage when we were met by a staff member who kindly offered to show us to the front desk. It wasn’t his job, and we didn’t ask for help yet he anticipated our need. Our rooms were ready and the desk clerk went above and beyond, walking us to the elevator. Our rooms were on the 18th floor (Club Floor), the beds cozy with lush bedding and  a Nespresso® machine in our room with an assortment of coffees. A wrap around balcony gave way to spectacular views of the park, the navy pier and Lake Michigan.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner in Filini overseen by Chef Christian, preparing his specialties each paired with the perfect Italian wine. With our hectic schedule leaving us little time for breakfast we ate in the Club Level Lounge with Fresh Fruit, a hearty oatmeal with grilled bananas and fresh brewed coffee.

Other highlights: an exquisitely landscaped, 80,000-square-foot, contemporary lifestyle garden, with a 1/5 mile running track, 25-meter lap pool, wading pool, hot tub, sundeck, fire pits, cabanas and dedicated yoga /exercise area.

Location, Location, Location: The Radisson Blu Aqua hotel is just a short ride from Chicago’s Union Station,  Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and  Midway Airport are both less than 16 miles away. You can easily walk to Chicago’s world-famous galleries and North Michigan Avenue’s “Magnificent Mile” for luxury shopping and cuisine.
