My Eat, Pray, Love affair with Viking cruises continues to grow, starting with day one on the Viking Sky. This day was all about relaxing, renewing and recharging as I explored this brand new, state of the art vessel.
My life has been a tapestry of “themes”. From marriage, parenthood, loss, resilience, travel, a celebration of the ages, to personal exploration, the list goes on and on. It has woven a tight-knit roadmap that has helped me navigate life’s highs and lows and given me unlimited fodder to write about.
My latest theme is derived from the title of one of my favorite books and movies: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.
EAT (less) PRAY (more) LOVE (unconditionally)
Here is an album of some of our favorite photos from Venice, Italy. With an endless parade of boats, gondolas, and water taxis navigating the labyrinth of canals, Venice is one of the most unique, charming, and romantic cities in the world. Throw in the city’s rich history, architecture, food, and wine, it’s no wonder that Venice is a top-tier Bucket List destination.
For those who have never cruised before, it is not uncommon to fall victim to myths and misguided assumptions. The best ways to dispel these misunderstandings are to talk to a seasoned sailor and ultimately embark on the journey yourself. My first cruise was a seven-day trip out of New York, New York to Bermuda on Norwegian Cruise Line’s infamous Breakaway. Going into the trip, I had many misconceptions that were thankfully debunked by NCL Gold Member and Mid-Life Road Trip correspondent, Kaelyn Mostafa.
