If you ever get to visit Nashville, Tennessee, you’re going to want to bring your camera to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Resort. The hotel was kind enough to provide us with an incredible suite that served as our base of operation while we were in town scouting the city for potential segments for Midlife Road Trip. We were so mesmerized with the variety and beauty of the foliage in property’s three enormous atriums that we actually took more pictures inside the hotel than we did the rest of Nashville combined.  The  beauty of the hotel provided a great opportunity to try out the camera on our Nokia Lumia 928 smart phone (#VZWBuzz).

Our suite overlooked the Cascades atrium which features two enchanting waterfalls. The Garden Conservatory is like a tropical paradise and features scores of exotic plants that we had never seen before. The Delta atrium is the largest in the hotel and features retail stores, restaurants, and riverboat rides through the atrium!

Wherever we went in the hotel we found the staff to be incredibly friendly and attentive. And we couldn’t help but marvel at our housekeeping staff’s towel folding skills:)

The hotel offers free shuttle service to the Grand Ole Opry, the General Jackson riverboat, and the humongous Opry Mills shopping mall. For less than what you’d pay to park downtown, the hotel offers shuttle service to the Wildhorse Saloon and the Ryman Auditorium.

The Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Resort is one of only a handful of hotels that we deem worthy of putting on your bucket list. Just one word of warning: when you return home, you’re going to feel totally inadequate as a gardener:)
