Just a short drive from Baton Rouge, Louisiana you’ll find The Crown Jewel of Louisiana’s River Road, theHoumas House Plantation and Gardens, a 16 room grand antebellum estate filled with period antiques, Louisiana artwork and spectacular gardens.
There’s no better therapy for a midlife crisis than a road trip. This year we’re in the running to travel from coast to coast writing blogs, taking photos, writing reviews, and making videos of America’s best small towns in Rand McNally and USA TODAY’s Best of the Road Rally.
We want to share the stories of America’s best small towns, but we can’t do that without your vote. So please, VOTE FOR US today! Facebook likes and tweets are much appreciated, but our vote count only goes up when you register to vote.
We received several emails telling us that we HAD to eat at the Berry Fresh Cafe in Port St. Lucie , Florida. So when we were in the area filming at the PGA Village, we stopped by and were treated to some great food and great fun.
We got to check something else off our Bucket List as we trained at the official PGA Training Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida. It was so cool learning from the people who train the pros on the PGA tour. The technology they use is nothing short of AMAZING.
We always love tagging along with others when they get to fulfill their bucket list dreams. Here’s a fun behind the scenes look at the Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure at the Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama with our friend Max Akins, where we drove real NASCAR race-cars at speeds of 174mph!
It’s not every day you get to see rhinos playing leap-frog! If you love animals, you’re gonna love our behind the scenes look at Lion Country Safari, in West Palm Beach Florida.
Twitter can be addictive and while our “Not-so Usual Therapy Sessions” (#NUTS) are helpful, every so often we all need to be admitted to Twehab. This week’s session will help us all assimilate back into the main stweem.

Sandi goes behind the scenes at Battle of the Dance in Anaheim, California where she learns a step or two from some of the best in the business. Is she ready for Dancing with the Stars? You be the judge! Either way, she got to check something off her Bucket List.
Travel Writer & Columnist, Kathy Witt wrote the following story about the MidLife Road Trip for McClatchy-Tribune. Another reason that not a day goes by that we don’t count our MidLife Blessings.

Bucket List Adventures: Hitting the (midlife) road
By KATHY WITT
To eat a Belgian waffle in Belgium. Cuddle a koala bear. Meet snack maven Little Debbie. Tug on Carol Burnett’s ear. If you’re going to dream, you’ve got to do it big. And some of the biggest dreams are realized within life’s simplest moments. Continue reading “Bucket List Adventures: Hitting the (midlife) road”
Of all the photographs taken at last year’s Royal Wedding, this one seemed to generate the most buzz on the internet. We came across this picture on Twitter during a wedding themed session of #FriFotos. We tracked it down and it seems to have come from TMZ. We need you to caption this Royal Wedding photo of the day!
Last fall we were in Tuscaloosa, Alabama taping segments for Midlife Road Trip. A few months months later, the town was rocked to its very core when it was pummeled by a powerful tornado. The photos below don’t even show the enormity of the destruction. Much of the town looked like the pictures I remember seeing of Hiroshima after a nuclear bomb. Incredibly workers and volunteers made most of the streets passable and basic utilities restored to areas not totally obliterated by the tornado. Tuscaloosa continues to recover from the aftermath of the F-5 tornado that devastated the town one year ago.
You can assist with the tornado relief effort here.
