I must confess. When I first began receiving materials from AARP in the mail, I would immediately tossed them in the trash. Opening the envelopes would somehow be an acknowledgement that I officially fit into AARP’s demographic. It was not something that I would readily embrace. It was easier to convince myself that AARP made a mistake in sending me the materials in the first place.
Fast forward to today, I am in Miami Beach for the #LifeAt50 expo enjoying the benefits of AARP Member Advantages. Last evening I had a foodgasmic meal at The Oceanaire Seafood Room and I woke up to a gorgeous sunrise at the Palms Hotel & Spa in South Beach. By my calculations, if I had lied about my age in order to join AARP when I turned 40, I probably could have saved enough money to buy a new car by now:) Getting older does not suck.
I’ll be tweeting live from the expo today and tomorrow so join the fun and follow the #LifeAt50 and #AARPdiscounts hashtags!
A great time was had by all – flaming desserts, drinking out of coconuts, dancing with robots – the young whippersnappers don’t know what they’re missing! GREAT to FINALLY meet you in Miami Rick – we ROCKED that town! -David & Veronica
So glad I got to finally meet y’all IRL! We had a blast for sure. I hope we cross paths again soon …and often! Cheers!
