    Maui Photo Album

Here’s a photo album featuring some of our favorite photos from our bucket list adventure in the tropical paradise of Maui, Hawaii. Our experiences included a helicopter ride, outrigger canoeing, paddle boarding, hiking along lava trails, learning to make poke, road tripping on the famous Road to Hana, and watching mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets.

The Travel Bar is Set High for the New Year

We admit that we feel more than a little blessed to have careers that allow us to travel for a living. Ever since Midlife Road Trip first began, each year has been filled with more exciting destinations and bucket list adventures than the year before. This last year has been no exception. For that trend to continue however, we may require the services of a magic genie as the travel bar is set high for […]

  • There’s Nothing Touristy About Molokai

    There’s Nothing Touristy About Molokai

Molokai is one of the most beautiful and spiritual places we’ve ever visited. It has the highest sea cliffs in the world, lush tropical vegetation, a fascinating history, and a population of beautiful souls. There is nothing touristy about Molokai. On a recent trip to Maui with the Expedia Viewfinders, we had the pleasure to lunch at Ferraro’s at the Four Seasons, Wailea’s only beachside open-air restaurant.  A spectacular view, gentle trade winds, bright blue skies and the incomparable […]

    Romantic Destination: Hawaii Island

Rick and I have an amazing partnership. We have been business partners for many years and have over 50 years of marriage between us, to other people! There is in fact, a Mrs. Griffin and a Mr. McKenna. Our spouses, Denise and Ralph, are the often-unsung heroes of our business partnership, keeping the home fires burning as Rick and I jet around the world writing about incredible places.

So, when Expedia released the results of the 2015 Expedia Heat Index, it got me thinking about romantic destinations, and a Hawaiian vacation I took with my mister that conjures up memories of love, luaus and leis.
