It doesn’t get much better than Florida in the spring. While much of the United States is blanketed with snow, it is the perfect time to head south and enjoy these warm weather getaways.

ONE:

Pinellas County, Florida, just a 30-minute drive west of Tampa International Airport, is home to nearly forty miles of award-winning beaches that stretch from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs, each with it’s own distinct personality and charm.

TWO:

One of our favorite places to eat: Clearwater Beach, located just west of Tampa. Not only does this destination have sugar-white sand, but it also boasts a number of stellar restaurants.

THREE:

From the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico and points between, Florida is the perfect vacation destination if golf is on your itinerary. Balmy year-round temperatures make it possible to play golf nearly every day. clearwater beach

FOUR:

One of our favorite Florida getaways is to Florida’s west coast on Captiva Island, and the South Seas Island Resort, about an hour’s drive from Fort Myers Airport. Unspoiled with plenty of natural beauty, Captiva Island is considered one of the world’s best beaches.

FIVE:

They don’t call Clearwater Beach the sugar sand beach for nothing. The sand is truly that, sweet sugary sand otherwise known as nature’s pedicure. A walk along this magnificent stretch of beach will do wonders for your sole/soul.

SEVEN:

Tampa is a great destination – especially when you’ve only got a day or two on either side of a cruise. Here are my favorite activities for a short visit in the Tampa area.

EIGHT:

If you are a fan of great weather and the crack of a bat, mid-February through early April is the ideal time for a trip to Tampa Bay, Florida, to witness Spring Training. Here, during this time, you can get an up-close look at the boys of summer and maybe even get an autograph or two.

NINE:

You don’t have to have kids or be a kid to enjoy all that Walt Disney World Resort has to offer. Since the launch of the Magic Kingdom, the resort has grown by leaps and bounds, adding Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, two water parks and dozens of hotels. From food to fantasy, grown-up fun is abundant at Walt Disney World!

TEN:

It’s hot year-round in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Rick and I agree that one great way to beat the heat is to step inside and check out some of the city’s world-class museums.
